PhD Thesis

This is the supervised doctoral research work leading to a thesis. The candidate carries out an original investigation under supervision, collects and analyses evidence, writes the thesis in accordance with the School's requirements, and defends the work at an oral examination. Learning outcomes: Conduct original supervised research that contributes to knowledge. Write a thesis meeting the School's scholarly and presentation requirements. Defend the research and its conclusions at an oral examination. 6 · Using this on the platform Build the national spine once. The six GST and ENT courses, the 120-unit rule, the 15-unit semester floor and the CGPA classification are identical across all 238 programmes. Configure them as shared components and attach them to every programme. Load the CCMAS core as the 70%. Each programme's CCMAS courses in Layer A are the national core. Add the partner university's own 30% on top, exactly as its Senate approved it. Use Layer B for sequencing, not for codes. The NUC gives courses by level; a distance programme has to be sequenced by semester. The structures in Layer B show a working eight-semester sequence — map them onto the partner's CCMAS codes before they go live. Treat SIWES as a platform object. Where a discipline requires 24 weeks of industrial training for 6 units, the logbook, supervision and assessment all need to sit on the platform. Postgraduate first for revenue. The master's, MBA and PGD structures in Layer C are where working adults concentrate; each carries a project or dissertation that needs supervision workflow, not just content delivery. Load the descriptions as course metadata, not as content. Each description and its three outcomes belong in the course record, where they drive the course catalogue, the prospectus entry and the accreditation evidence pack. They are also the first thing a department will want to edit, so make them editable in place rather than baked into a document. 7 · What is not here, and how to close it NUC volumes that could not be read in full. The CCMAS PDFs for Administration and Management Science, Social Sciences, and Communication and Media Studies could only be read as far as their first programme, so the NUC tables for Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Science and Mass Communication are not in Layer A. Layer B carries university structures for all five instead. Computer Science 400 level. The 400-level table could not be confirmed against the volume and is marked accordingly; confirm it before use. How to close both gaps. Download the five CCMAS volumes from nuc.edu.ng and send them through, and the NUC tables can be completed exactly as published — with the semester splits still coming from the partner university. Postgraduate standards. The NUC's current postgraduate benchmark standards are not published openly. Request them from the NUC's Academic Planning directorate, and collect each partner's School of Postgraduate Studies regulations. One course-title caution. The NUC's own volumes print "Social Standards" (Social Sciences) and "Environmental Standards" (Environmental Sciences). Confirm the intended titles before they appear in a prospectus.
